The chance of finding another kit like this is literally slim to none. In my 35+ years of collecting vintage Coca-Cola memorabilia, I don't recall seeing another one. This is an extremely rare Coca-Cola Salesmen Fountain Glass briefcase kit from the 1950s and 60s. Salesmen would bring this kit to potential soda fountains and diners to show them what The Coca-Cola Company would provide them to equip their fountain service, as far as showing variety of product as well as the quality. The briefcase itself in non-descript but the inside is custom-made to display different glasses, literature, wax-lined cups and equipment needed for preparing the properly served Coca-Cola beverage. The green molded section holds 4 different sized "bell-Shaped" glasses, bearing the "Drink Coca-Cola" on one side and "Enjoy Coke" on the other glass side. Unique is the 5th glass that is cut in half to show the glass thickness.
Also included are nine different size wax-lined paper cups bearing the diamond design. I never knew so many sizes existed. Sizes include: 24oz, 16oz, 14oz, 12oz, 10oz, 9oz, 7oz, 6oz and 4oz sample size cup. Then there's fountain instruments including a heavy (sharp) metal with wood handle ice chipper with no Coca-Cola logo on it anywhere, along with 1oz and 2 oz red plastic ice scoops with "Sell Coca-Cola" embossed on the handles. Also included is the following literature.
Two-sided light yellow flyer that describes the features of the glasses, sizes and prices as well as info on the equipment (ice chipper and ice scoops). 8-1/2" x 11" three-hole punched.
8-page die-cut booklet in the shape of a bell glass that describes more features. This shows wear on cover and inside pages. Spriteboy image flyer about glassware quality. 11-1/4" x 8-3/4" folded in half. Minimal wear, edge wear, creasing.Profitable Soda Fountain Operation booklet, measuring 8-1/2" x 11" and showing a great color photo on cover. This is hole-punched at top left corner with string through hole, most likely to attached in back out counter to use as a reference tool. This features 44 pages of information including training, dispensing beverages, using chipper, ice scoops, fountain housekeeping, washing glassware, refrigeration, syrup, carbonation, DeLuxe Dispensers... Lots of photos and information. Minimal wear and small stain at right corner back cover. Sell Coca-Cola padded leatherette flip booklet order form. Inside has a metal clasp that holds unused carbon order forms for purchasing syrup as well as glasses. The briefcase is well made, measuring 17" x 11-1/2" x 4-1/2. Some normal wear, corner wear, scratches as expected. Hard plastic handle, metal latches that can be locked. This opens and closes easily. All in all, an amazing and very rare salesmen fountain kit that you won't find anywhere else. Please check out my other vintage Coca-Cola items that I'm listing today.
